Disease Susceptibility: There are various factors
that go into determining who gets what disease. As
we age our thoughts about these things increase.
In the late 1930Õs and early 1940Õs a medical doctor, Francis M.
Pottinger, did an experiment using 900 cats to determine what
processed foods have on the body. The cats were divided into Þve
groups. Two of the groups were fed whole foodsÑraw milk and raw
meatÑreal food for cats. Three others groups were given denatured
(altered) foods, pasteurized, evaporated, and condensed milk.
(NOTE: evaporated and condensed milk produced the same results
as pasteurized milk.) All groups were fed the same minimal basic
diet to sustain life. However, the predominant portion of the diets
were either real foods or altered foods, as listed. The cats were
observed for four generations, and the results were documented by
Dr. Pottinger. What can we learn from this experiment?
