The Difference Between
Wealth and Money.
Economist Frederic Bastiat said there is a key difference
between money and wealth. He said confusing the two is
the cause of errors and calamities without number.
According to Bastiat, Òwealth is not a little more or a little
less money. Instead its bread for the hungry, clothes for
the naked, fuel to warm the body, oil to lengthen the day,
and a day of rest after fatigue. Money is therefore the
store and symbol of wealth, but not wealth itself.Ó
